  • Maureen Beattie OBE

    Trustee

    Maureen graduated from what is now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 1974 with the James Bridie Gold Medal and has been working as an actress and director ever since. Her theatre work includes seasons with the RSC and the National and appearances in London’s West End. In television she has been a regular character in Casualty, Bramwell, The Bill, All Night Long and A Wing and a Prayer.

    She was President of Equity, the performing arts and entertainment trade union from 2018 – 2022. She is Honorary President of The Scottish Music Hall Society and Patron of The Gaiety Theatre in Ayr. She is on the board of Wonder Fools theatre company which aims to empower young people through theatre and the arts, in particular those who may not usually get the opportunity.

    In 2018 she was given an Outstanding Women Of Scotland Award by the Saltire Society and in 2020 she was awarded an OBE for services to the entertainment industry.

  • Emma Baggott

    Trustee

    Emma trained at The Brit School, Goldsmiths College and the Young Vic. Her production of A Taste of Honey was nominated for the UK Theatre Award for Best Play Revival and The Wonderful World of Dissocia was shortlisted for Off West End Award for Best Production (Plays).

    Recent credits include Dracula (Lyric Hammersmith); A Taste of Honey (Royal Exchange); The Wonderful World of Dissocia (Theatre Royal Stratford East); Face the Music: The Social Care Workers Play (Almeida Theatre); The Snow Queen (Polka Theatre); Neville’s Island, Misfits, Stiletto Beach (Queens Theatre Hornchurch); She is Fierce (The Swirl/Royal Shakespeare Company); Leaving, How To Kill Your Mother, Copper & Steel (The Bunker); Normal (Styx); Under Milk Wood (National Youth Theatre of Wales); Cyrano de Bergerac, Pomona, Mr Burns, X, The Christians(LAMDA); The Cosmonaut’s Last Message, Attempts On Her Life (Royal Conservatoire Scotland); Love Steals Us From Loneliness (Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama); Dennis of Penge, Attempts On Her Life (Guildhall School of Music and Drama).

    Credits as an Associate Director include Stereophonic (West End/Sonia Friedman Productions); This House(Headlong/National Theatre); The Sound of Yellow (Young Vic); McQueen (Theatre Royal Haymarket).

    She facilitates regular workshops for organisations such as Cardboard Citizens, National Theatre, Young Vic and Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme.

    Emma is a Co-Chair of the JMK Award and she is on the board of trustees at Bold Elephant & Work Up.
