Our story
WORKUP was founded in 2022 to address the imbalance of working-class representation in the arts, media, and creative industries.
WorkUp was founded in 2022 to increase working-class representation across the arts, media, and creative industries.
We work across education and industry to open up access to creative careers and reshape how organisations recruit, support, and retain talent. Our focus is on long-term change, not short-term fixes, particularly into behind-the-scenes and decision-making roles.
Our work centres on:
Programmes and mentoring that widen access, build confidence, and develop professional networks for working-class young people
Career progression support that helps students and early-career creatives navigate recruitment, internships, and progression
Organisational partnerships and training that embed class-inclusive practice across entry routes, workplace culture, and leadership
Our mission is to collaborate with organisations, educators, and students to increase access, opportunity, and visibility for individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
